Where fibers are concerned, the rate and consistency at which they’re delivered into concrete is very important. SINTA® Micro Fibers can be specified wherever contractors need to reduce early-age plastic shrinkage cracking, lower permeability, increase durability and more. Fibers

SINTA® F19

SINTA® F19 synthetic fibers for concrete, are manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene in collated, fibrillated form. Designed specifically for use in concrete, they are alkali resistant, non-absorptive and completely noncorrosive. Their use protects concrete from stresses which cause cracking while it is most vulnerable during the first 24 hours after placement. SINTA® F19 comply with ASTM Designation C1116, Standard Specification for Fiber-Reinforced Concrete and Shotcrete, Type III Synthetic Fiber-Reinforced Concrete or Shotcrete. They are available in 0.75 in. (19 mm) length. SINTA® F19 uniformly distribute multi-dimensionally throughout the concrete mixture. The small fibrillated fibers mechanically lock in the fresh concrete matrix providing reinforcement for the mixture while its tensile strength is the weakest. This reinforcement reduces the formation of plastic shrinkage cracking that may otherwise permanently weaken the resulting concrete. The concrete permeability is decreased, while the surface characteristics, impact and toughness properties are improved. Together these effects work synergistically to produce a long-term better quality, more durable and serviceable concrete.

SINTA® F38 synthetic fibers for concrete, are manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene in collated, fibrillated form. Designed specifically for use in concrete, they are alkali resistant, non-absorptive and completely noncorrosive. Their use protects concrete from stresses which cause cracking while it is most vulnerable during the first 24 hours after placement. SINTA® F38 comply with ASTM Designation C1116, Standard Specification for Fiber-Reinforced Concrete and Shotcrete, Type III Synthetic Fiber-Reinforced Concrete or Shotcrete. They are available in  1.5 in. (37 mm) length. SINTA® F38 uniformly distribute multi-dimensionally throughout the concrete mixture. This reinforcement reduces the formation of plastic shrinkage cracking that may otherwise permanently weaken the resulting concrete. SINTA® FDS2219

SINTA® FDS2219 is a fluid delivery system that contains SINTA® M2219—a synthetic micro-monofilament polypropylene fiber for concrete plastic shrinkage control. It allows automated dispensing of fibers into concrete. An accurate and recordable dosage of fibers can be delivered in an efficient and safe manner. The product is engineered specifically for rapid and uniform dispersion of fibers in concrete during batching. SINTA® FDS2219 uniformly distributes multi-dimensionally through-out the concrete mixture. The extremely high number of fibers in the fresh concrete matrix protects the concrete when its tensile strength is lowest, reducing the formation of plastic shrinkage cracking. The reinforcement reduces the formation of all types of early age cracking. This cracking caused by plastic shrinkage, settlement and other internal stresses would otherwise permanently weaken the resultant concrete. This cracking and other internal stresses would otherwise permanently weaken the resulting concrete. The concrete permeability is decreased, while surface characteristics, impact and toughness properties are improved. When tested in accordance with ICC ES AC32 criteria for plastic shrinkage crack reduction, the SINTA® M2219 fibers contained within the SINTA® FDS2219 provided a 78% reduction in plastic shrinkage cracking over a control sample when dosed at 0.5 pcy. Technically advanced production techniques make SINTA® FDS2219 a highly durable fiber that is virtually invisible in fresh concrete. This minimizes fiber-reinforced concrete finishing concerns while providing the highest level of crack protection available.

SINTA® M2219 is a synthetic fiber for concrete, manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene in a micro-monofilament form. SINTA® M2219 is produced on a state-of-the-art production line which is specifically designed to yield an ultrathin concrete reinforcing fiber able to achieve superior performance at a lower dosage rate compared to conventional monofilament fibers. SINTA® M2219 contains over 70 million individual fibers for each 1.0 lb/yd3 dosed. Engineered specifically for use in concrete, they are alkali resistant, non-absorptive and completely non-corrosive. SINTA® M2219 protects concrete from stresses which cause cracking while the concrete is most vulnerable during the first 24 hours after placement. Benefits of Using SINTA® Microfibers

Lowers Permeability

SINTA® F Fibers may be used in any application where designers, contractors or producers want decreased cracking due to plastic settlement. These microfibers help to lower permeability. In addition, SINTA® F, SINTA® M or SINTA® FDS microfibers increase concrete cohesiveness, which enables contractors to place concrete on steep inclines and in slipform without tremendous difficulty. Applications where synthetic microfibers can be used include slabs on grade, overlays, sloped walls, pools, shotcrete, stucco, tunnels, precast and prestressed products.

Reduces Shrinkage Cracking

Use of SINTA® F reinforces a fresh concrete mixture while its tensile strength is weakest by mechanically locking into the concrete matrix. Plastic shrinkage cracking and permeability are both reduced. At the same time, SINTA® F increase impact, abrasion, shatter and fire-spalling resistance of the concrete. Taken together, these improvements produce higher-quality and higher-durability concrete over the lifetime of a structure.

Delivers Uniform Dispersion

SINTA® FDS is a fluid delivery system containing microfibers that automates their dispensation into concrete. SINTA® FDS guarantees both a measured dose of micro fibers and a uniform dispersion throughout the concrete matrix. By treating micro fibers like an admixture, it can be assured and documented in the batch like any other material. Automating dispensation improves productivity and safety at the ready mix plant, and in hands-on trials results in both easier concrete handling during a pour and a smoother finish.

SINTA® F and SINTA® FDS are compatible with all other our admixtures. Producers can achieve amazing strength, flexibility, and finishability by using SINTA® F products in combination with Chryso water reducers.
